Douglas Stock Gallery offers a selection of antique Persian tribal rugs and collectable bags and bag faces including antique QashQa’i rugs; antique Luri rugs; antique Kurdish rugs; antique Afshar rugs; antique Bakhtiari rugs; and antique Shah Savan rugs and bags. Douglas Stock Gallery also offers a selection of antique Caucasian tribal and village rugs; plus contemporary, hand woven rugs with tribal designs, many of which utilize natural dyes and hand spun wool. Not all antique tribal rugs are “nomadic” rugs, with many having been woven by members of tribal groups that are settled in villages. So, included in this selection are some rugs, for example antique Bidjar or Senneh rugs, that are generally attributed to Kurdish weavers living a sedentary lifestyle.
