3’3″ x 5’2″ Antique Turkish Rug With Star Oushak Design, Circa 1925
This rug was probably woven in Turkey in the 1920s and appears to be based on early “Star Oushak” rugs. The central medallion features a mid blue octagon with green arrow shaped motifs extended diagonally. The brick red field also is decorated with two mid blue diamond shape medallions with latch hook trim, plus ancillary motifs. A mid blue border with stylized vines and flowers and yellow guard borders frame the field.
Uneven wear with lower pile in the medallion and other areas.
