Antique Persian rugs with sky blue fields are highly prized and uncommon and examples from the village of Jozan in west central Persia are especially beautiful with light blue fields. Generally more rectilinear in the articulation of floral motifs than their regular Sarouk counterparts, Jozan Sarouk rugs have whimsical character, as seen in the scrolling vine and flowerhead border and coral medallion.
