2 x 2.3 Antique Northwest Persian Kurdish Bag Face, Circa 1900

A northwest Persian Kurdish bag face with an ivory center panel containing a latch hook medallion and four small Boteh. An aubergine and grass green panel appears at the top and bottom of the field with a salmon and yellow panel added at the bottom. The ivory border is interesting in the dramatic change of scale of the motifs. A navy major border frames the field and it is again interesting that the weaver used a small barber pole line to separate the flowerheads on the sizes but not on the top and bottom.
