4.6 x 7 Antique Bidjar Rug, Northwest Persia, Kurdistan Province, Circa 1880
A highly distinctive antique Bidjar rug from northwest Persia’s Kurdistan province, circa 1880. The navy blue field contains a red medallion with a sky blue, eight point flowerhead at the center and sky blue Anchor pendants. The field is decorated with stylized leaves and vines with an Arts and Crafts style aesthetic. An ivory, Turtle design border, an uncommon color for Bidjar borders, frames the field.
