3.2 x 5.6 Antique Bidjar Rug, Memling Gul Design, Northwest Persia, Kurdistan Province, Circa 1900
This charming Kurdish rug from the Bidjar area in northwest Persia’s Kurdistan province features a Memling Gul design on an abrashed brick red field. Shades of green, light blue, camel, ivory, denim blue, apricot, brown and brick red are featured in the octagon shaped Memling Gul medallions. An ivory scrolling vine and flower border and an apricot color border with stylized flowerheads frame the field.
