3 ‘x 12’6″ Antique West or Northwest Persian Runner, Boteh Design, Circa 1900

This very decorative antique runner was probably woven in west Persia but possibly in northwest Persia. It features a relatively fine, single knotted construction on a cotton foundation.

The navy blue field is decorated with large scale “Boteh” (Paisley style motifs) and is framed by a series of border including an ivory major borer and a polychromatic interior border with diagonal stripes.
