3.4 x 5.1 Antique Serab Rug, Northwest Persia, Circa 1920
Antique Serab rugs were woven in northwest Persia’s Azerbaijan province, the same province where Heriz rugs were woven. They are typically distinguished by having camel as a major color, in this case the background color, and they are often densely woven, if not particularly fine.
This example features excellent color quality, with navy, coral and green highlights.
