3.10 x 5.9 New “Halvai” Bidjar Rug, Classical Vase Design, Hand Woven With Natural Dyes and Hand Spun Wool
The term “Halvai” is sometimes applied to very finely woven antique Bidjar rugs from northwest Persia’s Kurdistan province.
From the contemporary hand woven rug production we consider to be the best in the world, this new “Halvai” Bidjar rug is superb quality and features a design based on classical period (1501 – 1722) “Vase” design carpets. The deep sky blue field is decorated with large palmettes and flowers, with ancillary floral decoration. A brick red border with the “Turtle” design frames the field.
This rug is very finely woven with exceptional wool quality and an amazing array of colors. These can be seen in the detail photos.
Rugs from this production have not been imported for a number of years and we are trying to focus primarily on the remaining inventory that our friend, the original importer, has that we consider to be masterpieces.
