5’1″ x 7’2″ Contemporary Hand Woven Heriz Rug, Natural Dyes
Sourced from a colleague, this rug is almost certainly from the contemporary hand woven Oriental rug production which we carried for many years and which we feel is the best contemporary production in the world. A genuine hand woven Persian rug, it is of a different quality to even the best new rugs woven in Afghanistan or other countries. Due to the embargo placed on items of Persian origin at least five years ago, rugs from this production have not been able to be imported for a long time and we have largely stopped carrying the production, occasionally accessing a rug from our friend who imported these in the past and who still has some “old new” inventory. We were able to find this rug at a price far less than what we normally paid years ago pre-embargo, suggesting it might have been a trade-in to another colleague from whom we got it. It is, accordingly, priced much lower than in the past and we feel represents an exceptional value. Although probably pre-owned, it is in excellent condition and quite beautiful, with the sky blue field and all-over design.
