8’4″ x 12’5″ Antique Bidjar Carpet, Harshang Design, Northwest Persia, Kurdistan Province, Circa 1900
The “Harshang” design is one of the most beautiful and renowned formats seen in antique Bidjar carpets. Consisting of various flowerheads and palmettes, its range of motifs, frequently complemented by a wide range of colors, makes it one of the most appealing and versatile designs available in antique Bidjar carpets.
This carpet features an all-over version of the Harshang design, with no medallion or corner spandrels, with a navy blue field decorated with palmettes and flowers in shades of green, light blue, cobalt blue, ivory, peach, coral and brown. A rose color border with the “Turtle” palmette design and ivory guard borders frames the field.
This carpet is out being cleaned and we should have additional photos soon.
