4 x 4 Antique Ghiassabad Sarouk Rug, Central Persia, Circa 1925
This Sarouk rug is of outstanding quality and in an uncommon squarish format. It is a type sometimes called a “Ghiassabad” Sarouk, reflecting the fine quality. The drawing has a rectilinear interpretation of floral motifs and the rose color field is decorated with a wide and beautiful range of colors and framed by an ivory border.
