This over size antique Fereghan Sarouk carpet was woven in central Persia’s Sultanabad Province. It is part of an important group of Fereghan Sarouk carpets that feature four Cypress trees in the field.
The navy medallion contains whimsical flowerheads and the teal blue shade of the Cypress trees is a distinctive feature.
The navy border is well drawn and the inclusion of three guard border with smaller guard stripes is uncommon.
