3.6 x 18 Antique Serab Runner, Northwest Persia, Circa 1880
An antique northwest Persian Serab runner with aubergine color medallions on an ivory field. What appear to be highly abstract flowers decorate the field.
The brick red and grass green Reciprocal Trefoil border in an outstanding feature.
Serab rugs and runners are known for their use of camel color wool and the major border and plain outer band both have this signature color.
