3’9″ x 6’8″ Antique Kurdish Rug, Bidjar Area, Northwest Persia, Kurdistan Province, Circa 1890

In the use of a variegated camel color open field with no decoration, this antique Kurdish rug somewhat resembles antique Bakshaish rugs that were woven further north in the Heriz district in Azerbaijan Province. The border style and the weave, however, suggest it is a Kurdish weaving from the Bidjar area in Kurdistan Province.

Very good general condition. End guard borders rewoven.
