3.5 x 13.7 Antique Bakshaish Runner Rug, Heriz District, Northwest Persia, Circa 1900
A distinctive antique Bakshaish runner from the Heriz district in northwest Persia. The abrashed (variegated) camel color field is decorated with scrolling, sky blue vines with coral, yellow, brown and sky blue flowers. A sky blue leaf and flowerhead border with coral guard borders that are decorated with stylized flowers (that look like beach balls) frame the field.
