5.8 x 9.5 Antique QashQa’i Rug, Southwest Persia, Circa 1910
An antique QashQa’i tribal rug, woven in Fars province in southwest Persia. The navy blue field is decorated with two ivory medallions and a brick red central medallion. Ancillary stylized leaves and flowers decorate the field which is framed by an elaborate border system.
This piece is of fairly large size for a QashQa’i weaving and is in better condition than many examples.
