4.7 x 6.2 Antique Heriz Serapi Rug, Northwest Persia, Circa 1895
An exemplary antique northwest Persian Heriz rug of the age and type often referred to colloquially as antique “Serapi rugs”. The ivory field contains a navy blue and camel medallion and is decorated with swirling vines and flowers. Coral color corner spandrels and a brick red “Turtle” design border with navy blue guard borders frame the field.
