4’9″ x 6’11” Antique Bidjar Rug, Herati Design, Northwest Persia, Kurdistan Province, Circa 1910
Of medium fine weave but with fabulous color quality, this antique Bidjar rug from northwest Persia’s Kurdistan province features an elaborate, navy blue medallion with sky blue highlights on a deep salmon color field that is decorated with the classical “Herati” design. Navy blue corner spandrels with sky blue, camel and aubergine highlights and a navy blue Turtle border with ivory guard borders frame the field.
