This antique Heriz carpet, of the age and type frequently referred to as antique “Serapi” carpets, features a rare coral color field. The variegated corner spandrels range from a greenish yellow at one end to more of a celadon green at the other end.
A brick red medallion and stylized floral decoration in shades of sky blue, camel, teal green and ivory decorate the field. A brick red leaf and flowerhead border frames the field.
The virtual lack of navy blue in this carpet is an uncommon feature and gives it a light, distinctive appearance.
