9.8 x 11.4 Antique Heriz “Serapi” Carpet, Northwest Persia, Azerbaijan Province, Circa 1890
This antique Heriz carpet, of the age and caliber often referred to as antique “Serapi” carpets, is very densely woven. The eight point navy blue and coral medallion is framed by a brick red interior field. A larger field, in a prized abrashed denim blue, frames the red interior field. Ivory corner spandrels and a brick red, “Turtle” design border frame the field(s).
A stunning carpet that would work well in a variety of interior styles.
