6.3 x 8.10 Antique Heriz Carpet, Northwest Persia, Circa 1915
All-over design Heriz carpets are less common than their central medallion counterpart, and navy field examples are less common than their red field counterparts. Add in the very difficult to find size that is close to 6′ x 9′ and this is quite a distinctive carpet.
The navy blue field is decorated with polychromatic stylized leaves and flowers and framed by a madder red “Turtle” design border.
