5 x 7 Antique Heriz Serapi Rug, Northwest Persia, Circa 1890
A world class small antique Heriz Serapi rug with a rare and magnificent yellow camel field that is decorated with two large, sky blue palmettes and ancillary floral forms in shades of green, coral, navy, brick red, ivory, mid blue and brown. A navy blue Turtle border frames the field.
This is one of a small number of my favorite rugs we have sold over the last 35 years and it is part of a superb Massachusetts family collection.
