3.5 x 4.4 Antique Kuba Rug, Northeast Caucasus, Circa 1885
A fine antique Kuba rug from the northeast Caucasus with a complex lattice design formed by red leaves surrounding what appear to be navy and yellow abstract flowers. The teal blue Kufic border is a magnificent feature of this rug.
This antique Kuba rug had been part of an exceptional New York family collection, with many of the rugs stored for years or decades. Many of the rugs from that collection are in remarkable condition and this piece retains the original braided end finish.
