3.11 x 12.8 Antique Caucasian or northwest Persian Runner Rug, Circa 1895
An outstanding antique runner rug, woven either in the Caucasus or northwest Persia. The navy blue field is decorated with three madder red medallions, two deep green medallions and two ivory medallions, plus ancillary stylized floral forms and geometric motifs. An ivory Leaf and Chalice major border and red guard borders frame the field.
