3.1 x 12 Antique Kuba Runner, Northeast Caucasus, Circa 1880
A world class antique Caucasian runner from the Kuba district. The oxidized brown field is decorated with a lattice design of yellow leaves framing various flowers. A magnificent border system, with an ivory major border framed by polychromatic diagonal stripe guard borders and an ivory interior border, frames the fields.
From an important Midwest collection and now in a superb coastal New England collection, this Kuba runner is in remarkable condition.
