11.9 x 14.9 Antique Bakshaish Carpet, Heriz District, Northwest Persia, Circa 1880
An exceptional antique Bakshaish carpet from the Heriz district in northwest Persia’s Azerbaijan province. The brick red field contains an ivory, navy blue and coral medallion and is framed by light camel, green and brownish aubergine corner spandrels. A denim blue Turtle border with two sets of guard borders frames the field.
