3.10 x 5.8 Antique Chi Chi Rug, Kuba District, Northeast Caucasus, Circa 1905

Rugs with this distinctive border style are generally attributed to the village of Chi Chi, which is located in the Kuba district in the northeast Caucasus. This moderately priced example features geometric medallions on a navy blue field that is framed by red and navy blue “Reciprocal Trefoil” interior and exterior guard borders, along with the classic major border which is an oxidized brown.
