2.2 x 3.6 Antique Sarouk Rug, Central Persia, Circa 1920
An antique Persian Sarouk rug with aspects that relate to seemingly earlier Fereghan Sarouk rugs. This rug has thick pile and fascinating motifs but it seems to have been woven in the 1920s, or perhaps even later, though it incorporates design elements from an earlier generation of Sarouk rugs.
