8.4 x 13 Antique Bidjar Carpet, Harshang Design, Northwest Persia, Kurdistan Province, Circa 1900
The Harshang design, consisting of various palmettes and flowerheads, is one of the most famous and beautiful formats seen in antique Persian carpets. It is a well known and prized format in antique Bidjar carpets and, while among the best choices for a “period” interior, it is also well suited for modern interiors.
The Bidjar features the Harshang design on an abrashed (variegated) navy blue field that is framed by a terra cotta color border. A wide range of colors is utilized, including green, yellow and light blue.
