4.6 x 6 Antique Heriz Rug, Northwest Persia, Circa 1920
Woven in northwest Persia’s Azerbaijan province circa 1920, this antique Heriz rug features a relatively uncommon coral color field with an all-over design of stylized leaves and flowers. All-over design antique Heriz rugs are less common than their medallion counterparts. The light yellow guard borders and navy blue leaf and flowerhead border frame the field well.
