4.7 X 6.5 Antique Bidjar Rug Decorated With Leaves, Flowers and Boteh, Kurdistan Province, Northwest Persia, Circa 1890

A charming and well drawn antique Kurdish rug from the village of Bidjar in northwest Persia. The navy blue field is decorated with stylized leaves, flowers and Boteh (Paisley shape motifs). The palette includes coral, deep sky blue, green, ivory, soft yellow, brick red, pale aubergine and brown. A brick red Turtle border with ivory guard borders frames the field.
