9.8 x 13.2 New Heriz “Serapi” Carpet, Natural Dyes
Done in the style of the late 19th century Heriz carpets that are often colloquially referred to as antique “Serapi” carpets, this new, hand woven carpet features a navy blue medallion on a terra cotta color field with light and deep green, navy, ivory , coral and sky blue highlights. Ivory corner spandrels with green and terra cotta insets and a navy blue Turtle design border with a light blue interior guard border and a grass green exterior guard border frame the field.
Well woven and with excellent wool quality and what are said to be natural dyes, it is an excellent alternative to an antique version which would either have condition issues or be much more expensive.
