8.9 x 11.5 Antique Heriz “Serapi” Carpet, Northwest Persia, Circa 1890
Antique Heriz district carpets of this age and quality are often referred to colloquially as antique “Serapi” carpets. This carpet is exceptionally well woven and features a navy blue medallion with sky blue trim on a brick red “open field”. Mid blue corner spandrels and a navy blue leaf and flowerhead border frame the field.
