8.8 x 11.7 Antique Lillihan Carpet, Central Persia, Circa 1920

An elegant antique Lillihan carpet from central Persia’s Sultanabad (later called Arak province) province. This carpet aesthetically resembles the Mahajaran Sarouk carpets produced in this region from circa 1910 to circa 1925. However, Lillihan carpets have a single knotted construction, with both halves of an individual knot contiguous on a flat plane; whereas Mahajaran Sarouk carpets have a heavier, double knotted construction where one half of the knot is stacked over the other half.

This carpet has a wide color range.
