4.8 x 6.2 Antique Karaja Rug, Green Medallions, Northwest Persia, Circa 1925
Antique Karaja rugs were woven in the Heriz district in northwest Persia’s Azerbaijan province. They are prized for their geometric designs and color quality. The two large green medallions in this rug is a beautiful feature. The rug has a wide ranging palette, including light and deep green, mid blue, coral, salmon, ivory, navy, camel brick red and sky blue.
The design is charming and has more open space than some other examples.
