4.3 x 7 An Important Antique Fereghan “Zili Sultan” Rug, Central Persia, Circa 1890

From an exceptional New York family collection, this extraordinarily fine central Persian Fereghan rug is of the type often referred to as a “Zili Sultan” rug. The ivory field is decorated with Boteh (Paisley shaped motifs) and ancillary stylized floral motifs.

Suitable for use on the floor but recommended for an area that would not get heavy foot traffic, this rug could also be displayed on a wall or table.

An example for a connoisseur.
